He was informed at that. time that STEVE MAGADDINO had just left for the Como Restau-~ rant in Niagara Falls, N.Y. Informant explained that he did not learn that STEVE MAGADDINO had been to Delfredo'ts Restaurant until after he had returned to the funeral home. Informant stated that STEVE MAGADDINO was overheard talking to-his brother, "NINO" MAGADDINO, and SAM RANGATORE about someone referred to as "GASPARINO" and another man known as TONY CRIS. It is noted that STEVE MAGADDINO has a cousin, GASPARE MAGADDINO, who was known to be residng in Castéllammare Del-.Golfo, Sicily, in 1957. It is also pevetest that the-Sjeme "TONY CRIS" is a name by which ANTHONY ORISEL of Greefiwich-Village, N.Y., is commonly known. ANTHONY CRISELwiis convieted several years ago on Federal narcotics charges at Cleveland, Ohio. MAGADDINO advised the informant that two men had come to Niagara Falls on the morning of 12/11/64 and mentioned that they were looking for a man who resided on Grand Island, New York. He stated that these two men had been to Montreal in an effort to locate this individual. These two men later called upon STEVE MAGADDINO and advised him that they were Looking for STEVE MAGADDINO's brother. Informant stated he later learned from PETER A. MAGADDINO and PETER J. MAGADDINO that the two men were Detectives from Nassau County, N.Y., and they were looking for GASPARE MAGADDINO. _PETER A. SAM RANGATORE appears to be present during most of the conversation on both reels and the voice of another unidentified man, possibly NINO MAGADDINO, is heard only intermittently. There is much conjecture as to the motives behind JOE BONANNO's scheduled reappearance and JOHN CAMMILLERI is heard to speculate that he wants to get himself thrown in jail. STEVE MAGADDINO wonders what JOE BONANNO is going to say when they question him about the kidnaping. The possibility of é Ss his lying and resulting perjury charges are also discussed. JOHN CAMMILLERI makes the comment that no matter how he turns around he is in trouble. Towards the end of reel one for a period of time, only the voices of STEVE MAGADDINO, PETER A. PETER A. MACADDINO . then makes an obscene reference to JOE BONANNO to the effect that he has accomplished nothing except create more heat upstate. Shortly after this, someone accidently knocks a telephone receiver off the hook and the dial tone interferes greatly with the reception on the tape. ‘Reference is made to BONANNO being in a lot of trouble and if he does not answer their questions they will make him look sick. SAM RANGATORE leaves before the conversation is brought to a close and the discussion continues between JOHN CAMMILLERI and STEVE MAGADPINO about BONANNO but possibly not in the same vein. Insofar as the Buffalo translator can discern, MAGANDINO's apparent lack of awareness of all the facts of the BONANNO abduction suggests the strong possibility that he is not responsible for BONANNO's original disappearance. However, it is noted that the discussion of the situation takes place in the presence of JOHN CAMMILLERI and SAM RANGATORE (possibly to a lesser extent) who may not enjoy “MAGADDINO's- fullest confidence in this particular matter. Reel number three cut on 12/21/64, concerns a very brief discussion between STEVE MAGADDINO and PETER A. MAGADDINO again on the same situation. PETER A. Information developed by the New York Office indicates that JOHN TARTAMELLA was born March 11, 1891, Castellamare Del Golfo, Italy. An informant of the New York Office advised that JOHN TARTAMELLA was formerly a "Captain" and a "Gonsulieri” in the JOSEPH BONANNO "Family# ;of..cosa Nostra. Three reels of audio tape were furnished by the source on this date; however, reels one and two, upon translation by Agents of the Buffalo Office, were found to contain general information. The main speaker on reel #3 is STEVE MAGADDINO. There are also present two men who at the beginning of the reel are unidentified, but midway through the tape are greeted by PETER A. MAGADDINO as TONY (LNU) and Mr. FALCONE. It is noted that TONY DE STEFANO and JOE FALCONE, top hoodiums from the Albany area and members of the "MAGADDINO Family," were in to see STEVE MAGADDINO earlier in the day and advised that they would return. The conversation carried on by STEVE MAGADDINO in reel #3 again revolves around the disappearance of JOE BONANNO, STEVE goes on to describe different incidents and details that happen on the night of the abduction but does not indicate that this information is of his own knowledge or from what he has read in the newspapers.
